The Structure board checks your story against a beat sheet.
Pick a template and each of its beats appears as a slot, in order and tinted by act.

| Template | |
|---|---|
| Three-Act | The classic setup / confrontation / resolution shape |
| Save the Cat | Blake Snyder's fifteen beats |
| Hero's Journey | The monomyth stages |
Switching templates keeps your tags. A scene tagged with a Three-Act beat simply won't fill a Save-the-Cat slot until you assign it there, so you can commit to one framework at a time without losing work.
- Assign a scene to a beat from its "+ Assign a scene…" picker. The slot then shows that scene — click it to jump to the event in the timeline.
- You can also set a scene's beat from its card on the Timeline.
| Signal | Meaning |
|---|---|
| X / N beats placed | How much of the structure is filled — so gaps (a missing midpoint, no clear climax) stand out |
| Out of order | A beat whose scene falls earlier in the story than a later beat's scene — catching a structure that's been shuffled |
Structure is a writing screen, so reading mode removes it and closes its address.
- Corkboard — restructure by dragging cards
- Timeline & Events — the pacing curve, a different read on shape
- Plot Threads — subplot cadence rather than act structure
