Armor

DaemoniaCraft uses three standard armor styles plus several shield forms.

Armor Styles

Each armor style has:

  • Helmet
  • Chestplate
  • Leggings
  • Boots
Armor Style Standard Classes Relative Defense Chassis
Heavy Armor Tanker, Fighter 100%
Light Armor Fighter, Assassin ~67.5%
Spellcaster Armor Spellcaster, Support ~45%

These percentages describe the relative base defensive chassis before materials, modifiers and upgrades.

Heavy Armor

Heavy Armor provides the highest raw Defense potential.

It is the main defensive armor for:

  • Tanker
  • Fighter

Light Armor

Light Armor sacrifices some raw Defense and retains an innate Dodge identity.

It is intended for:

  • Fighter
  • Assassin

Spellcaster Armor

Spellcaster Armor has the lowest raw Defense chassis and is intended for:

  • Spellcaster
  • Support

Its lower physical chassis leaves more build space for magical and utility-focused stats.

Armor Materials

Armor materials add another stat identity to the finished item.

Material Identity Durability
Leather Dodge Rating 70%
Gold Max Mana 70%
Chain Parry Rating 90%
Iron Flat Defense 100%
Diamond Flat Max Health 125%
Netherite Higher flat Defense, durability and a movement penalty 150%

Note: Diamond's current Blacksmith material bonus is flat Max Health. The Max Health enchantment is a separate percentage-based modifier.

Example: S-Rank Heavy Chestplate

The current S-Rank Heavy Chestplate material ranges demonstrate the different identities:

Material S-Rank Material Effect
Leather +2.4–3.6 Dodge Rating
Gold +140–190 Max Mana
Chain +2.8–4.2 Parry Rating
Iron +160–230 Defense
Diamond +280–380 Max Health
Netherite +220–300 Defense and -0.5% Movement Speed

Material strength changes by:

  • Equipment rank
  • Armor chassis
  • Armor slot

A Light or Spellcaster Chestplate does not receive the same flat Defense material values as a Heavy Chestplate.

For example, current S-Rank Iron Chestplates use approximately:

Armor Style Iron Defense
Heavy +160–230
Light +108–155.2
Spellcaster +72–103.5

The Blacksmith menu displays the exact live range for the item being forged.

Shields

Standard shield forms include:

  • Buckler
  • Kite Shield
  • Tower Shield
  • Runic Shield

Full shields such as Kite, Tower and Runic Shields are standard Tanker equipment.

Bucklers are treated separately and currently do not use the same base-class restriction.

Shield Materials

Shields use the same broad material identities as armor, scaled for an offhand defensive item.

Example: S-Rank Tower Shield

Material Current S-Rank Effect
Leather +0.96–1.44 Dodge Rating
Gold +56–76 Max Mana
Chain +1.12–1.68 Parry Rating
Iron +64–92 Defense
Diamond +112–152 Max Health
Netherite +88–120 Defense and -3.25% Movement Speed

Shield Frames

Frame Effect
Standard Frame No stat changes
Light Frame +3% Movement Speed, -15% Defense, -15% Block Rating, -10% Durability
Reinforced Frame +15% Defense, +15% Block Rating, +15% Durability, -3% Movement Speed

Armor Modifiers

Armor style affects which enchantments and modifiers it can receive.

Examples:

  • Heavy Armor supports defensive Block-oriented modifiers.
  • Light Armor supports Dodge and several physical/offensive modifiers.
  • Spellcaster Armor supports magical and skill-oriented modifiers.
  • Elemental Defense can be applied across all three armor styles.

See Enchanting and Modifiers for the full compatibility summary.
