Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do when I first join?

Complete the Tutorial, then level your unclassed Hunter to Level 10.

What happens at Level 10?

You choose one of the five Classes, automatically awaken a random subclass from that class, and your combat level resets to Level 1.

Can I choose my subclass?

No. You choose the base class; the subclass is rolled automatically from that class's pool.

Why did my level reset?

The Level 10 reset marks the start of your real class progression. Your new class then progresses from Level 1 through the full Ranks ladder.

How many skill slots does my class have?

Tanker, Fighter and Assassin have 6 active skill slots. Spellcaster and Support have 7.

How do I assign and cast skills?

Use /skills to assign them. Toggle the Skill Bar with Swap Hands and use the corresponding hotbar number. See Combat Mechanics.

What are Runestones?

Runestones provide additional skills separate from your subclass abilities. See Runestones.

What is the difference between a Runestone and an Enchanting Rune?

A Runestone grants an additional skill. An Enchanting Rune is consumed by the Enchanter to add an equipment modifier.

What is the difference between Hunter Rank and Equipment Rank?

Hunter progression continues from E to N. Standard crafted equipment currently uses E–S equipment ranks.

Where do I get equipment?

Current documented sources include tutorial/class starter gear, Blacksmithing, Boss Chests and the System Shop.

Where do I equip Rings and accessories?

Use the Equipment section of /system.

Can two items of the same rank have different stats?

Yes. Crafted base stats roll within a range, and Blacksmith profession level affects successful roll quality.

What do materials do?

A material adds a secondary identity such as Defense, Mana, Health, Critical Power or Weapon Damage. See Weapons, Armor and Accessories.

What is a fitting?

A fitting is an optional construction choice selected during Blacksmithing, such as Lightweight, Reinforced, Shortened, Extended or a shield frame.

How many enchantments can the Enchanter add?

The current Enchanter handles Slot I and Slot II.

Does Rune Tier need to match equipment rank?

No. Enchanting Rune Tier is independent of equipment rank.

Does failed enchanting destroy my item?

No. A failed attempt consumes the Rune and money, but the equipment is safe.

What does Enchanter level do?

It affects success chance and moves the accessible roll window upward inside the Rune's full potential range. See Enchanting and Modifiers.

What is an Essence Stone?

A rank-specific monster resource used in same-rank Blacksmith crafting. E–A stones are also used by corresponding Enchanting Rune tiers.

What is a Core?

A Core is a socketable equipment item with a named combat effect and an additional family-based stat roll.

Eligible crafted equipment can roll MIGHT, AEGIS, INSTINCT, ARCANE or RUIN Core sockets.

Matching copies of the same named Core strengthen that Core's main effect up to the 3-Core tier.

See Cores for all 25 current Cores and their exact effects.

Does having two Cores from the same family give the 2-Core effect?

Not unless they are the same named Core.

For example:

  • Momentum + Hunter = 1-Core Momentum and 1-Core Hunter
  • Momentum + Momentum = 2-Core Momentum

What does Scrap do?

Scrap repairs durability. Standard Blacksmith crafting does not use Scrap.

How do I revive a downed player?

Hold crouch beside the downed player for the revive duration. See Combat Mechanics.

How does PvP damage compare with PvE damage?

PvP has additional damage scaling, a Max-Health hit cap and rapid Skill/DOT protection. See Combat Mechanics.

How much does it cost to create a Town?

$150,000. A Nation costs $10,000,000. See World and Towny and Economy and Currencies.

Do I lose money when I die?

Yes. The current death charge is 10% of your balance, capped at $250,000.
