Environmental biology converts a controlled Petri Dish or contaminated substrate into visible world growth.

Chain

Contaminated Substrate/Petri Dish → Colony Core → Infested Blocks and Microbial Mats → pathogen-specific Sporocarps → Necrotic Patches when growth dies.

The Colony Core manages resources, radius, infestation capacity, colour, growth attempts, and linked structures. Microbial Mats spread across surfaces and may convert substrate; Sporocarps disperse spores and reinforce fungal growth. Sunlight and pathogen restrictions affect survival.

Limits

colony_radius and max_infested_blocks are editable strain parameters up to 10000, but server performance and pack balance should keep ordinary strains bounded. Area contamination world data is separate from visible colony blocks.
