Deutsch: Assistent Lokalisierung

The "Localization" assistant translates the texts of AI Studio's user interface for a language plugin. It is meant for the people who keep a translation of AI Studio up to date, for example, after a new version added texts. It compares the texts of your version of AI Studio with a language plugin, translates only the texts the plugin lacks, and generates the Lua code of the complete text table.

What you need

  • A language plugin for the target language, installed and enabled. AI Studio comes with plugins for English (US) and German (Germany). For another language, first create a plugin with the matching language tag; with an empty text table, the assistant translates every text.
  • One of the listed languages as target. "Other" has no language tag, so it never matches a plugin.
  • A provider. You don't need the source code of AI Studio: the assistant knows the texts of the version you have installed.

How to use it

  1. Open "Assistants" → "Localization".

  2. Choose the "Target language".

  3. Under "Language plugin used for comparision", choose the plugin of that language.

  4. Check the comparison:

    • "Added Content": texts that the plugin lacks. These get translated.
    • "Removed Content": texts of the plugin that AI Studio no longer uses. These are dropped.

A changed English text appears in both lists, because it gets a new key. The search box filters all tables at once.

  5. Choose a provider, and click "Localize AI Studio & generate the Lua code".

The run

The assistant sends one request per added text, at most two per second. A new language with more than 5,000 texts therefore takes about an hour; an update after a new version takes minutes. The model is told to translate interface texts for everyone, not just IT specialists, without adding information.

Existing translations stay unchanged. "Localized Content" shows the new translations when the run is done.

The result

"Copy Lua code to clipboard" copies the complete text table: every key, sorted, with the English text as a comment above it. In the plugin.lua of your plugin, replace everything from the line UI_TEXT_CONTENT = {} on with it; the header of the plugin stays as it is.

For English (US), nothing gets translated; the assistant only generates the Lua code.

Options

In "Assistant: Localization", "Preselect localization options?" lets you start with your target language, comparison plugin, and provider.

Tips

  • Check the translations before you publish them, above all placeholders such as {0}, which must stay as they are.
  • When a request fails, AI Studio shows an error and continues with the next text. Look through "Localized Content" for missing translations before you copy the code.
  • "Stop generation" ends the run without Lua code, so let a run finish.
