Assistant Legal Check

Deutsch: Assistent Rechtliche Prüfung

The "Legal Check" assistant answers your questions about a legal document, such as a contract, terms of use, or a law. It doesn't replace legal advice: models can invent answers and facts, so consult a lawyer for anything that matters.

How to use it

  1. Open "Assistants" → "Legal Check".
  2. Put the document into "Legal document": paste it, load it with "Load the legal document from file", or load a web page with "Read content from web?"; see Assistants.
  3. Enter "Your questions", or load them with "Load your questions from file".
  4. Choose a provider, and click "Ask your questions".

The result

The answers, in the language of your questions. The model is told to say so when it is unsure, doesn't know the area of law, or has no answer, instead of inventing facts. If you use a profile, the assistant takes it into account. Send the result to a new chat to ask follow-up questions; see Assistants.

Options

In "Assistant: Legal Check Options", you can:

  • "Hide the web content reader?": for a simpler form.
  • "Preselect legal check options?": start with the web content reader, the content cleaner, a minimum confidence, a provider, and a profile.

Tips

  • Ask precise questions, for example, "What is the notice period, and how do I have to give notice?"
  • Contracts are often confidential. Choose a provider you trust with them; see Provider Confidence.
  • Very long documents may exceed what a model can handle at once. Ask about the relevant part instead.
  • When you send a text from another assistant to this one, it lands in "Your questions", not in the document.
