Deutsch: Assistent Übersetzung

The "Translation" assistant translates a text into another language. With live translation, it translates while you type.

How to use it

  1. Open "Assistants" → "Translation".
  2. Paste the text into "Your input". You can also load it from a file with "Use file content as input", or from a web page with "Read content from web?"; see Assistants.
  3. Choose the "Target language". "Other" lets you enter any language under "Custom target language".
  4. Choose a provider, and click "Translate".

Live translation

Switch on "Live translation", and the assistant translates on its own as soon as you pause typing. It translates only when the text has changed. After changing just the target language, click "Translate".

How long the assistant waits after your last keystroke, you set in the options under "How fast should the live translation react?", from 500 to 3,000 milliseconds. The default is 1,500 milliseconds. Each live translation is a request to your provider, so a short delay causes more requests.

The result

The result contains only the translation. Parts of the text that are already in the target language stay as they are. If the text contains instructions, the assistant is told to translate them instead of following them.

Options

In "Assistant: Translator Options", you can:

  • set the speed of the live translation;
  • "Hide the web content reader?": for a simpler form;
  • "Preselect translator options?": start with your preferred target language, live translation, web content reader, and content cleaner.
