Energy Condensers

Applies to Equivalent Legacy 1.1.0+ for Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge).

An Energy Condenser turns junk into one specific item. You tell it what you want with a lock, feed it anything else, and it slowly produces your chosen item.

How to get them:

  • MK1: 4 obsidian, 4 diamond and 1 Alchemical Chest.
  • MK2: 4 Red Matter Blocks, 4 Dark Matter Blocks and 1 Condenser MK1.

Using a Condenser

  • Open it and place the item you want in the lock slot, then click the lock slot to set it.
  • Put any other items with EMC into the input area. They are consumed and their value fills the condenser's buffer.
  • Once the buffer holds enough EMC, one locked item is produced in the output area.
  • Click the lock slot again to clear the lock.

MK1 vs MK2

  • The MK1 has 91 shared slots and processes one item per tick.
  • The MK2 has separate 42-slot input and output areas and processes whole stacks per tick, producing several items at once. It is the late-game upgrade.

Hidden abilities

  • A condenser never gives EMC out; it only consumes it.
  • The required EMC is the full value of the locked item, so expensive items take a long time.
  • Automation: feed items in and pull the locked item out through the same face. The filter only accepts items that are not the locked one.
  • An Alchemical Chest is needed to make the MK1, so build your storage first.

Server settings: producing a locked item costs twice its normal EMC by default, set by balance.emc.condenserCostMultiplier, and the whole economy can be toggled with balance.emc.enabled.
