Entropy Sinks
Applies to Equivalent Legacy 1.1.0+ for Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge).
Despite the name, an Entropy Sink generates EMC: it burns items with an EMC value and sends the result to neighbouring blocks. It is the automated alternative to burning items by hand in a table.
How to get them:
- Basic: 4 obsidian, 4 diamond and 1 furnace.
- Dark: 8 glowstone, 1 Dark Matter and 1 Entropy Sink.
- Red: 8 glowstone, 1 Red Matter and 1 Dark Entropy Sink.
Using them: place one and feed items in through any side. Every so often it burns a batch and emits the EMC to whatever accepts it next to it.
Tiers
- Basic: burns 1 item every second, 50,000 EMC buffer.
- Dark: burns 4 items every 0.75 seconds, 200,000 buffer.
- Red: burns 16 items every 0.5 seconds, 1,000,000 buffer.
Hidden abilities
- The faster you burn, the less efficient it becomes: beyond about 1,000 EMC per second the payout drops, down to a floor, so a single sink cannot be pushed to infinity.
- Items with a custom name, a container of loot, or a shulker box are ignored.
- Burning an item also teaches it to the owner if they are online.
- It never accepts EMC from pipes; it is a pure source.
Server settings: generation is scaled by balance.emc.generationMultiplier and the efficiency floor by balance.entropySinks.efficiencyFloor.
