Matter Furnaces

Applies to Equivalent Legacy 1.1.0+ for Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge).

Matter Furnaces smelt far faster than a vanilla furnace and can even double some ores.

How to get them:

• Dark Matter Furnace: 8 Dark Matter Blocks around a vanilla furnace.
• Red Matter Furnace: 2 Red Matter Blocks around a Dark Matter Furnace.

Using them: they work like a normal furnace, but:

• The Dark Matter Furnace smelts about 20 times faster and has a 25% chance to double ores.
• The Red Matter Furnace smelts about 66 times faster and no longer doubles ores by default.

Hidden abilities

• A Matter Furnace can run on EMC instead of fuel. Pipe EMC in and it smelts without coal. It drains a little EMC every tick while running this way.
• The top face accepts items, the bottom face outputs them, and the side faces take fuel and give output. This lets you stack furnaces and feed them without hoppers.
• If the block above is not a hopper, the furnace pulls items from it; if the block below is not a hopper, it pushes the result down.
• Taking items out of the output slot grants the smelting experience.

Server settings: the ore-doubling chance is balance.matterFurnaces.dmDoubleOreChance (25% by default) and balance.matterFurnaces.rmDoubleOreChance (0% by default).
