World Transmutation
Applies to Equivalent Legacy 1.1.0+ for Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge).
World transmutation is the Philosopher's Stone's signature trick: point at a block and right-click to turn it into another block, without spending any EMC.
Many vanilla blocks have a default transformation. A few examples:
- Stone becomes cobblestone, and cobblestone becomes stone.
- Grass, dirt, sand and sandstone cycle into one another.
- Gravel becomes sandstone.
- Ice becomes water, and obsidian becomes lava (and back again).
- Netherrack, crimson nylium and warped nylium cycle together.
Alternate results: hold Sneak while right-clicking to get a different result when the block has one. For example, stone's normal result is cobblestone, but sneaking turns it into grass instead.
Transmuting fluids: sneaking also lets the Stone target source fluids. Right-click a water or lava source to convert it (for example, water source to ice, or obsidian to lava).
Area and modes: press G to switch between Cube, Panel and Line, and V to raise the charge. The higher the charge, the more blocks change at once.
You can browse every possible transformation in JEI or EMI under the World Transmutation category.
Server settings: an admin can disable world transmutation with balance.philosophersStone.worldTransmute (the crafting grid keeps working).
