Anker Code

Anker Code is a variant of the Plessey barcode symbology that was used on the labels of Anker point of sale systems before the advent of EAN.

Standards: AIM HD/13-007 Historical Document - Anker, Plessey and MSI.

Data and Options

  • The data can contain up to 28 of the following:
    • Digits 0-9
    • Capital letters A-F
  • Two mandatory check characters are automatically included. They are the complement of the CRC check characters of Plessey.
  • The symbol has the start pattern of Plessey and ends with a wide termination bar and the reverse code, which allows reading in either direction.
  • The validatecheck option takes the last two characters of the data to be the check characters and refuses the data if they are wrong.
  • The includecheckintext option makes the calculated check characters appear in the human readable text.

Examples

Data: 1234567890
