CEPNet

The CEPNet barcode symbology is used by Correios, the Brazilian postal service, to encode the CEP postal code on letter mail. It has the bars of USPS POSTNET.

Uses:

  • Brazilian mail.

Standards: Correios Guia Técnico - CEPNet e Código 2D para Triagem e Endereçamento.

Data and Options

  • The data field contains the eight digits of the CEP, without a dash.
  • The mandatory check digit is calculated automatically, unless validatecheck is given.
  • The validatecheck option takes the last digit of the data to be the check digit and refuses the data if it is wrong.
  • The includecheckintext option makes the check digit appear in the human readable text.
  • The guide gives bars from 0.015 to 0.025 inches wide at 22 +/- 2 bars per inch, with tall bars from 0.115 to 0.135 inches high. The encoder's defaults are the midpoints, bars 0.020 inches wide and 0.125 inches high.
