Who gets it: Epirus
Hail, Basileios! Over time, our soldiers have encountered and slain many foes. Among the barbarians we faced in Italy, we found cavalrymen hiding behind shields. Even if this practice was initially regarded as pure cowardice by our brave and noble warriors, over time we have come to see the merits of equipping our horsemen with an Aspis of their own. These new military strategies are represented by the Aspidophoroi, who have now become available for recruitment.
It fires when a settlement held by Epirus is a huge city or larger.
The game checks this at the end of every round.
1 unit can be recruited once it fires:
| Unit | Who can raise it |
|---|---|
| Aspidophoroi | Epirus |
1 unit can no longer be recruited:
| Unit | Who can raise it |
|---|---|
| Xystophoroi | Epirus |
