Subclass Rogue Thief
The Thief is the Bonus Action Rogue subclass. Fast Hands at Level 3 lets you cast from a Spell Scroll as a Bonus Action, Second-Story Work adds a Bonus Action Throw and halves falling damage, and Supreme Sneak at Level 9 turns you Invisible for a Bonus Action with no cooldown at all.
| LEVEL | FEATURE |
|---|---|
| 3 | Fast Hands, Second-Story Work |
| 9 | Supreme Sneak |
Fast Hands A toggle, on by default, that makes Spell Scrolls cost a Bonus Action instead of an Action. It does not change what you are allowed to use a scroll on — the class and spell slot restrictions still apply.
Second-Story Work You take only half damage from falling, and you can use Throw as a Bonus Action.
Supreme Sneak A Bonus Action that turns you Invisible for 10 turns. It has no cooldown and costs no resource, so it is available every turn — the invisibility breaks on the usual conditions, when you attack or cast.
The Thief spends its Bonus Action better than any other Rogue. Cunning Action already offers Dash, Disengage, and Hide; Fast Hands and Second-Story Work add scroll casting and throwing to the same slot. A Thief turn is a full Attack action plus whichever of those matters most.
Casting from a scroll as a Bonus Action is the standout. It stacks a scroll's effect on top of a full Attack action or another spell in the same turn, and since this mod gives most spells a scroll, the Thief effectively has a second, disposable spell list — subject to the same scroll restrictions as anyone else.
Throw as a Bonus Action turns terrain into damage. Throwing an enemy off a ledge or lobbing a heavy object costs you nothing from your Action, and half falling damage means you can follow them down.
Supreme Sneak at Level 9 is the strongest re-entry into stealth in the game: no cooldown, no resource, Bonus Action, and it hands you Invisible rather than a Stealth check. Attack, vanish, reposition, attack again with Advantage — the loop only costs your Bonus Action each turn.
