QA Test Data & Sample Datasets

Comprehensive test datasets for development, testing, demonstrations, and training.

Available Datasets

Enterprise Crew Project

File: enterprise_crew.sql

  • 3 test projects
  • 8 users with different roles
  • Complex test hierarchies
  • 20+ test cases with steps
  • Multiple builds and platforms
  • Test execution history
  • Size: ~500KB

Best for:

  • Enterprise feature testing
  • Multi-project scenarios
  • User role testing
  • Complex workflow validation

Formula One Project (Recommended)

Files:

  • formula_one.sql - Standard format

  • formula_one_mysql.sql - MySQL optimized

  • Complete Formula One testing project

  • 5 test suites with 50+ test cases

  • Multiple test plans with execution data

  • Platform configurations (Windows, Linux, macOS, Browsers)

  • Custom fields and keywords

  • Bug associations and traceability

  • Size: ~2MB

Best for:

  • Comprehensive demonstrations
  • Full feature testing
  • Performance/load testing
  • Training and onboarding

Simple Projects

With Platforms

  • 1 project, 2 suites, 10 test cases
  • 3 platforms (Windows, Linux, macOS)
  • Basic execution results
  • Size: ~100KB

Without Platforms

  • 1 project, 1 suite, 5 test cases
  • Minimal configuration
  • Simplest setup
  • Size: ~50KB

Best for: Quick setup, learning, minimal testing

XML Test Data Examples

File Content Use Case
t1_empty_suites.xml Suites with no cases Suite import testing
t2_suites_tcase_no_steps.xml Cases with no steps Test case structure

testproject-35-testcases.xml 35 test cases Large dataset import

Quick Start

SQL Import (Fastest)

# 1. Create database
mysql -u root -p -e "CREATE DATABASE testlink;"

# 2. Load schema
mysql -u root -p testlink < install/sql/mysql/testlink_create_tables.sql

# 3. Load default data
mysql -u root -p testlink < install/sql/mysql/testlink_create_default_data.sql

# 4. Load QA dataset
mysql -u root -p testlink < docs/qa_data/formula_one_mysql.sql

# 5. Access TestLink
# http://localhost/testlink
# Login: admin / admin

XML Import

  1. Navigate: Project → Test Specification → Import
  2. Select: testproject-35-testcases.xml
  3. Configure: Field mapping
  4. Execute: Import

Default Credentials
