Member of the EverAfters of HemsHollow. Craw CrowdCaller is the troupe's caller, with the biggest voice in HemsHollow and the smallest opinion of himself. Every dusk he climbs onto the wagon's roof, cups his hands and bellows "Roll up! Roll up! Stories, stories, stories!" across the rooftops, calling the Listening Rota to the square, waking anyone who has dozed off at their window and, the townsfolk swear, shouting straight at the East Wall itself. He insists it is nothing, only noise, and that anyone could do it. Nobody else has ever made the Void flinch. When the calling is done, he climbs down, ladles out the soup, and sits at the very back to listen with everyone else.

Story Magic

The Roll-Up. Craw's call carries to every ear in HemsHollow, through shut doors and over the Wall, and everyone who hears it hears their own name somewhere inside it. No one is ever made to come. They simply find, a moment later, that their feet are already walking towards the square, and that they would very much like to know what happens next.
