Horis HeckleHush
Member of the EverAfters of HemsHollow. Horis HeckleHush is the troupe's crowd control, and he will stand for no nonsense. Big, gruff and soft as a pillow underneath, he finds every latecomer a seat, every Patchling a better view and every grandmother a cushion, and he keeps an eye on the whole square from his post by the wagon steps. Hecklers, chatterers and anyone who dares to give away an ending get one look from Horis, and that is generally all it takes. He says he is only the doorman. The rest of the troupe say no story in HemsHollow has ever been interrupted on his watch, and on the nights the Void leans hardest on the East Wall, it is Horis who stands with his arms folded, staring it down.
The Hush. When Horis raises a single finger and says "Shhh," a crowd of hundreds falls silent at once. Not a cough, not a rustle, not a whisper. The Hush holds every listener gently in their seat, wrapped in a quiet as soft as a blanket, until the very last word of the story, and then it lets go all at once, into applause.
