Tolly TellTwice
Member of the EverAfters of HemsHollow. Tolly TellTwice is the teller of every tale... twice. The first time, he tells it just as he heard it. The second time, he tells it better. He spends his days wandering HemsHollow collecting the townsfolk's own stories, a burnt loaf, a lost goat found, a first kiss on the bridge, and at dawn he tells them back to the town, twice, so that HemsHollow wakes each morning to its own small life told as a legend. He says he has no stories of his own, only other people's, polished. The town would say that Tolly is the reason HemsHollow remembers itself at all. His telling of the Battle of HemsHollow is the best there is.
The Second Telling. The first time Tolly tells a story, you hear it. The second time, you are in it. You feel the wind on the bridge, smell the burnt loaf and hear the goat bleating in the hedge, and the memory glows a little brighter for everyone who heard it. Anyone who has heard the first telling simply has to stay for the second.
