Tillet TumbleTale
Member of the EverAfters of HemsHollow. Tillet TumbleTale is the troupe's acrobatic storyteller, and she cannot tell a story standing still. She cartwheels through the beginnings, somersaults through the middles and lands every ending in a perfect, wobbly bow, and the Patchlings of HemsHollow follow her around the square trying to copy her. She is all elbows, knees and patched leggings, forever bruised and forever grinning. She tumbles on frosty mornings and on rainy nights, and she has tumbled right up to the East Wall more than once, telling the Void a story upside down. "If it wants to stop me," she says, "it'll have to catch me first."
Tumblespun. As Tillet tumbles, the story tumbles out of her in coloured ribbons that spin up into the air and stitch themselves into scenery, a castle here, a ship's sail there, a forest blowing in the breeze. Everyone watching feels just a little bit lighter, and some swear their feet leave the ground. Nobody can look away from Tillet in mid-air, in case they miss the landing.
