Admin Theatre Privileges and Access
Access to theatre functions is controlled by a set of specific privileges assigned to user roles. An administrator configures these privileges in the role management screens. This article lists all theatre-related privileges and explains what each one unlocks.
SystemAdministration or UserAdministration — to assign privileges to roles
- Click Administration in the main menu
- Click Roles (or Manage Roles)
- Select the role you want to configure
- Find the Theatre section in the privilege tree and enable the relevant privileges
| Privilege | What It Grants Access To |
|---|---|
| Theatre | Main theatre menu — required for any theatre access |
| TheatreAddSurgery | Add and edit surgeries on a patient BHT; access the Surgery Workbench |
| TheatreBilling | Add theatre services, search surgery bills, process timed services |
| TheaterIssue | Issue pharmacy items and store items directly to theatre cases |
| TheaterTransfer | Request and manage stock transfers from pharmacy/store to theatre |
| TheaterReports | Access surgery count, survey, cost estimation, and other theatre reports |
| TheaterSummaries | Access theatre summary dashboards and analytics |
These privileges are not theatre-specific but control what theatre staff can see:
| Privilege | Effect in Theatre Screens |
|---|---|
| ShowInwardFee | Allows billing staff to see fee amounts on surgery bills |
| ShowDrugCharges | Shows drug charge values in pharmacy issue screens |
| InwardSearch | Enables navigation to the Inpatient Dashboard from theatre pages |
| NursingWorkBench | Enables navigation to the Nursing Workbench from theatre pages |
| InwardAdministration | Required to manage theatre departments, surgery types, and services |

- Privileges are role-based — assign them to a role, then assign users to that role
- A user with access to two institutions will only see theatre data for their authorised institution and department
- The Theatre privilege must always be enabled — it is the gate that shows the Theatre menu; all other theatre privileges depend on it
