Clip Extractor Quick Start

Quick Start

Cut a clip in about a minute.

1. Open a video

Press Ctrl+O, or drag a video file onto the window. MP4, MKV, MOV, AVI, TS, WebM and most other formats work.

On the very first launch the app asks you to choose a Dark or Light look. You can change it any time under Settings.

2. Find the start

  • Left / Right step one frame back or forward.
  • Shift+Left / Shift+Right jump to the previous or next keyframe.
  • Click or drag on the timeline to scrub.

Press I to mark the start (Mark In).

3. Find the end

Move to the first frame you do not want, and press O (Mark Out).

Out is exclusive: the clip ends just before the Out frame. So jumping to a keyframe and pressing O gives a clean cut at that point.

The In and Out labels show whether each mark is on a keyframe.

4. Export

  • Ctrl+E opens the Export dialog. If both marks are on keyframes you can choose Lossless; otherwise the clip is re-encoded with NVENC.
  • Ctrl+Shift+E is Quick export: no dialog, straight to your output folder with your default settings. With nothing marked it exports the whole video.

The finished file is saved next to the source video unless you picked an output folder in Settings > Preferences > Output. Press Ctrl+Shift+O to open the last export.
