Image Crawler Installation

Installing RulZ Image Crawler

With the launcher (recommended)

  1. Open the RulZ AI Tools Suite launcher and click RulZ Image Crawler.
  2. Click Install. Keep llama.cpp (CUDA 13 build) ticked unless you already use LM Studio (see below).
  3. Wait for the setup to finish. It does these steps for you, and you can watch them in the progress area:
    • installs Python first if your PC doesn't have it,
    • makes a private Python environment for the app (a .venv folder inside the app's folder), so it doesn't interfere with anything else on your PC,
    • installs the app and the Chromium browser it uses to open websites (about 150 MB),
    • downloads the AI model (about 9.7 GB). This is the slow part: on a fast connection it takes 10 to 20 minutes,
    • downloads llama.cpp, the program that runs the model on your graphics card (about 700 MB).
  4. Click Launch.

If the model download is interrupted (the internet drops, the PC goes to sleep), use ⋯ ▸ Repair (run setup again). It carries on from where it stopped instead of starting over.

Updates show up as an Update button on the app's card. An update only fetches the changed app files; the model and llama.cpp are kept.

Already have LM Studio?

The app can use the llama.cpp that comes with LM Studio instead of its own copy. Untick llama.cpp (CUDA 13 build) when installing. If the app later says no llama-server was found, reinstall with the option ticked.

What goes where

Everything lives in the app's folder (by default %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\RulZ AI Tools\RulZ Image Crawler):

Folder What's in it
output\ The pictures each search saved, one folder per search
image_detection\LLM\ The AI model (9.7 GB)
llama.cpp\ The program that runs the model
.venv\ The app's own Python environment
logs\ Log files, useful when something goes wrong

Chromium goes in Playwright's shared folder, %LOCALAPPDATA%\ms-playwright.

Uninstall (in the ⋯ menu) moves the app's folder, including output\, to the Recycle Bin. Move any pictures you want to keep out of output\ first.

By hand (without the launcher)

For people comfortable with a command prompt: the README has the exact commands.
