Coding Agent Phone Access

Phone Access

With RulZ Coding Agent for Android, you can watch and control your projects from your phone: give it tasks, answer approvals, follow the steps and changed files, run your app, and undo. Since 0.3.0 it can also switch models and change Model Settings, since 0.3.1 pick the draft model, and since 0.4.0 show the model's thinking and the Drafts readout. Everything still runs on the computer.

Setup

1. Install Tailscale on the computer and the phone, signed in to the same account.
2. In Settings → Phone access, turn on Let my phone connect. The first time, Windows may ask whether RulZ Coding Agent may use your networks. Allow it, or the phone can't connect.
3. Scan the QR code with the phone's camera. Or, in the app, tap Add computer and type the address, port and pairing code.

Settings lists the phones connected now. This window follows what the phone opens, closes or undoes.

On the phone

Since RulZ Coding Agent for Android 0.4.0:

• Thinking: the model's thoughts show live in a Thinking… box above its reply, as on the computer, and fold away into Thought process when it answers. Tap to open or close. When thinking is off or its budget is 0, the status says "Working… (thinking is off in Model settings)". Needs RulZ Coding Agent 0.10.0 on the computer.
• Keep thinking open after the answer (phone Settings): the same setting as on the computer, so changing it on either side changes both. Needs RulZ Coding Agent 0.11.0.
• Model settings warns that a thinking budget of 0 skips thinking, so no thoughts will show.
• Drafts on the Steps tab: when a task used a draft model (MTP), the share of drafted tokens the model accepted and about how much time that saved, as in the Drafts readout. Tap it for the counts. Needs RulZ Coding Agent 0.10.0.

Security

• The app listens only on this computer's Tailscale address (port 7420), so only your own devices can reach it.
• Each connection needs the pairing code. After 10 wrong codes, that device is locked out for 10 minutes.
• Make a new code disconnects every phone using the old one.
• The phone can do what this window does, except change phone access, the RulZ LLM Suite address and API key, or open dialogs, the browser or Explorer on the computer.
