Displays

The originals only know the main display: CountGfxModes and the other GfxMode commands list its modes, and Graphics always opens on it. BlitzLLVM adds commands for every connected display (CountDisplays, PrimaryDisplay, DisplayName, DisplayX, DisplayY, DisplayWidth, DisplayHeight, DisplayDepth, DisplayRefreshRate, DisplayScale), for the modes each one supports (CountDisplayModes, DisplayModeWidth, DisplayModeHeight, DisplayModeDepth, DisplayModeRefreshRate) and for the refresh rates of a size (CountRefreshRates, RefreshRateAt).

  • Displays and modes are numbered from 1, like the modes of GfxModeWidth. A number that does not exist gives 0 (or an empty text for DisplayName) instead of stopping the program, because a display can be unplugged while the program runs. CountDisplays looks at the displays again each time it is called.
  • The mode lists have every combination of size and refresh rate once, from the smallest width to the largest, and always include the mode the display is in now. Refresh rates are rounded to whole Hz, and a display that does not tell its rate is taken to have 60 Hz.
  • The commands can be asked before Graphics opens a window. When no display driver is available there is one display called "Default" with the sizes CountGfxModes gives.
  • Graphics can not be told which display to open on yet; it opens on the main display.
