SetSamplerLodBias 〔BlitzLLVM〕

SetSamplerLodBias:Void sampler:Int32, bias:Float32
Parameter Mode Type Default Description
sampler In Int32 required The sampler to change.
bias In Float32 required The number of levels to add to the level that is picked.

Description

〔BlitzLLVM〕 This command does not exist in the original Blitz products. BlitzLLVM adds it.

Moves the point where the mip levels change. A positive bias uses the smaller (blurrier) levels sooner, a negative bias keeps the bigger (sharper) levels for longer, which looks sharper but can shimmer. 0 is the default. This is a BlitzLLVM extension: the originals read every texture with the settings of its flags and do not have samplers.

Differences

  • The graphics card has a limit for the bias, and the value is kept inside of it.
