SeekMovie 〔BlitzLLVM〕

SeekMovie:Void movie:Int32, seconds:Float32
Parameter Mode Type Default Description
movie In Int32 required A movie handle from OpenMovie.
seconds In Float32 required The position in seconds.

Description

〔BlitzLLVM〕 This command does not exist in the original Blitz products. BlitzLLVM adds it.

Puts a movie at a position, in seconds from its start. The picture of that position is shown, the sound goes on from there, and the movie keeps playing or stays paused, as it was. A position before the start is the start, and one after the end is the end, where MoviePlaying becomes 0. A movie that has ended plays again when it is seeked back, so this also restarts a movie. This is a BlitzLLVM extension: the originals can only play a movie to its end.

The decoders go to the picture before the position that stands on its own and decode up to the position, which takes longer when those pictures are far apart. For files that cannot be seeked that way (MPEG programs sometimes) the movie is decoded from its start.

Differences

  • A debug build (-d) stops the program when the movie does not exist, for example the 0 of a movie that failed to open, other builds ignore the command, see Debug handle checks.

Examples

SeekMovie movie, MovieLength(movie) / 2 ; the middle of the movie
SeekMovie movie, 0 ; and back to the start
