BlitzLLVM

Double 〔BlitzLLVM〕

Double(value)
Double:Float64(value)

Returns: The Double.

Description

〔BlitzLLVM〕 This command does not exist in the original Blitz products. BlitzLLVM adds it.

Converts a number or a text to a Double, a 64-bit real with about 16 digits. This is a BlitzLLVM extension: the originals only know Int and Float. A Double is calculated with as a Double, so it keeps digits that a Float loses, and the math commands (Sqr, Sin, Floor and the others) give a Double when they are given one.

Differences

  • Not in the originals, which only have the 32-bit real (Float).

Examples

x:Double = Double(1) / 3
Print x * 3
Print Float(x) * 3 = 1
Print Double(Long(5000000000)) + 1 = 5000000001
