SetSamplerAnisotropy 〔BlitzLLVM〕

SetSamplerAnisotropy:Void sampler:Int32, anisotropy:Float32
Parameter Mode Type Default Description
sampler In Int32 required The sampler to change.
anisotropy In Float32 required The most samples along the surface, 1 or more.

Description

〔BlitzLLVM〕 This command does not exist in the original Blitz products. BlitzLLVM adds it.

Sets the most samples that are taken along a slanted surface, such as a floor that goes far into the distance. Anisotropic filtering keeps these surfaces sharp where plain mip mapping makes them blurry. 1 (or less) turns it off, 16 is the usual most. This is a BlitzLLVM extension: the originals read every texture with the settings of its flags and do not have samplers. It does not change a texture that is seen straight on.

Differences

  • The graphics card has a limit and the value is lowered to it, and a card that can not do anisotropic filtering reads as if it was 1.
