ProfileSample

ProfileSample:Void file:String
Parameter Mode Type Default Description
file In String required The file that receives the samples, or an empty string to stop.

Description

Starts or stops recording where the program spends its time, like the environment variable BLITZLLVM_PROFILE_SAMPLE (which starts it with the program). The program is sampled every millisecond and the addresses go to the file; with -g or -d as well, <file>.stacks also receives the call stacks. See Environment-Variables for the files. An empty name stops sampling and writes what is left. Windows only, and only in a program that was compiled with --profile: everywhere else this command does nothing.

Differences

  • This is a BlitzLLVM extension: the original has no such command.
