Roll call / Attendees

Attendees: Jackie, Michael D (chair/minutes), Adrian (minutes), Mike G, Kris, Sarah, Chris H, Chris T, Omar, Nathan, Sanna, Neil, Eric, Ali, Martin

Notes/summary of the discussion at the "reinvigoration/financial planning" meeting, that we had to start working out our plan to stabilize DoES' finances.

Largely Chatham House rules, but mostly because that meant Adrian didn't have to keep track of who said what when summaraizing 😁

• Omar has offered to run some introduction to 3D printing workshops.
• Jackie offered to run a wearables course
• How do we do more promotion?
• We should get some leaflets
• A mini-course attracts a different sort of people (like when we did the Wearables course a while back)
• What about getting more, newer equipment - additional 3D printers, for example?
• An AI chatbot to make it easier to search the wiki
• Could we get folk from outside the community to come in and show how to use some of the equipment? Eufymake are doing that, as an example, for using their machine.
• We should raise the prices in line with inflation (give folk a month or two's notice)
• How do we get people to stay once they've come to visit
• If you're already into the kit, DoES is great, if you don't know how to get started, it's harder
• Run some see-the-space sessions as an alternative to funneling people to Maker Night [Michael]
• Is there a community at DoES? How do we engage it more?
• Should we move the community meeting to an evening? [Adrian to run poll]
• A Sunday hack-the-space with a social afterwards

Publicity:

• Can we build a list of who to inform about events?
• We should be cheeky when asking friendly-orgs to boost our stuff on their socials

Makefest:

• That's a big shop window for making stuff

Co-working:

• What about the co-working side of things? That's a larger
• Could we get good monitors, keyboards, mice for the hot-desks so the space is more usable
• We could collate the monitors into the co-working room to make it

Cleanliness/tidiness:

• Cleaning supplies in the events space [Kris]
• A checklist of things to do to when finishing using the space
• How do we handle moving on things from the space if they're not of any use
