Where to ask questions, share what you've made, report bugs, and get a license.
Locus Studio is built in the open, and there are a few places to reach us - each for a different thing.
The GitHub Discussions board is the community space. Head there to:
- ask how do I... questions and get help,
- show what you've made: constructions, patterns, anything Locus helped you build,
- suggest features or flag workflows that feel clunky,
- follow announcements and release news.
A free GitHub account is all you need to post.
Licenses are issued by email, not through Discussions - that keeps your machine ID private. Copy your machine ID from the Activate dialog and email it to algoristanm@gmail.com; you'll get a license to paste in and Activate. See Licensing & activation for the full flow. Please don't post machine IDs publicly.
Found something broken? Open an Issue so it can be tracked to a fix. A short note on what you did and what happened is plenty.
The public beta is live. Head to Installing & launching to download the current build for macOS or Windows, or grab it straight from the Releases page.
Everyone who takes part in the public beta is issued a free one-year license on release day, automatically - see Licensing & activation for how activation works.
Locus Studio is a small, one-person project built in the open - so a few things to set expectations:
- Post in public when you can. A question in Discussions helps the next person with the same question, and usually gets answered faster than email. Keep email for things that must stay private - licensing and machine IDs.
- Give replies a little time. Everything here gets read, but it's one person reading it, so a few days is normal: and busier around releases. The beta especially moves in bursts.
- Announcements land here first. To catch release and beta news without checking back, use the repo's Watch button (top-right) -> Custom -> Discussions.
