Region: Curves node icon   Region: Curves (node)

Close a set of curves into a filled region - the node twin of the model's Region tool.

Region: Curves closes a set of curves that meet end to end into a filled region, arcs included (arcs stay arcs). Curves that do not close - shown as an open roof with a gap at one end - are dropped: not closed means not a region.

Region: Curves takes loose curves you built in the node graph - segments and arcs - and closes the ones that meet end to end into a filled region, so they can feed the boolean nodes. Curves must join end to end; open runs that don't close are dropped, and arcs stay arcs (no sampling). It's the node form of the model's Region tool.

Its twin Region: Points closes an ordered list of points instead. The two are a family, not one node: this one joins curves by matching their ends and does not care what order they arrive in, while Region: Points reads the order as the shape.

Inputs

  • Geometry (any): the curves to close.

Outputs

  • Region (region): the filled region(s).

What it is for

The gateway to the boolean nodes. Union, Intersect and Difference all want regions, so curves have to come through here first.
