node filter by area
< Previous: Separate by Type | Next: Select Every Nth >
Keep or reject closed regions by area. Points and open curves always pass through to Selected.
Category: Data | Add menu: Data > Select by Area
Routes each closed region to Selected or Unselected by its area. Set a Min to drop slivers, a Max to drop the big pieces, or both to keep a band. Max Area 0 means no upper bound. Loose points and open curves aren't areas, so they always fall through to Selected.
Min and Max are inline-editable on the node face - double-click and type, no wiring needed.
- Geometry (any): the geometry to filter by region area.
- Min Area (number, editable: default 0) - the smallest area to keep, in mm2.
- Max Area (number, editable: default 0; 0 = no upper bound) - the largest area to keep, in mm2.
- Selected (any): regions in range, plus all points and open curves.
- Unselected (region): regions out of range.
Sorts a pile of regions into the ones worth keeping and the ones that are not, usually after a boolean has left slivers behind that are too small to matter.
Both outputs are live, so nothing is thrown away. Wire Unselected up as well to see exactly what the threshold is catching before you commit to a number.
