The circle through three points - the circumcircle.
Category: Primitives | Add menu: Primitives > Circle: 3 Points
Feed it three points and it finds the one circle that passes through all three - the circumcircle of the triangle they form. It pairs the three point lists index-for-index, so a triple of point lists yields one circle per index. Three points on a straight line have no circle through them, so a collinear triple produces nothing at that index.
- Point 1 (point): the first point the circle passes through.
- Point 2 (point): the second point the circle passes through.
- Point 3 (point): the third point the circle passes through.
- Geometry (region): the circle through each triple of points.
Reach for this when you know where a circle has to pass but not where its center is. Three points on the circle are often what a construction gives you, and this turns them into the circle without you working the center out.
The other circle nodes start from the center. This one starts from the circle itself.
