Length node icon   Length (node)

The total length of the input curves: a segment, an arc, or a whole contour's perimeter (line + arc pieces summed).

A wavy contour with its total length read out as a number purple value, 41.2 mm.

Inputs

  • Geometry (any): the curve geometry to measure.

Outputs

  • Length (number): the total length of the input curves (segments + arcs summed), in mm.

What Length measures

Length sums the length of every curve piece in the geometry, so it adapts to what you feed it:

  • A segment: the straight distance between its ends.
  • An arc: its true arc length (radius x swept angle).
  • A whole contour: the summed perimeter of all its line and arc pieces (the closing edge included on a closed contour).

Loose points contribute nothing.
