   Bake (command)

Turn a Realize node output into free, editable geometry.

A lineage fork: a source is cut by a scissors glyph to yield a freed, editable object.

Menu: Edit > Bake | In depth: Bake

Bake freezes a Realize node's output into ordinary free geometry, cutting its live link to the node graph so you can edit it by hand.

The exit from the node graph. Up to this point a realized shape is remade every time anything upstream changes, which is what you want while the pattern is still moving and exactly what you do not want once it is settled.

Bake ends that. The geometry stays where it is and stops listening, so you can drag a point, delete an edge, or build on it without the next slider move undoing your work.

It is one way. Nothing reconnects a baked shape to the node that made it, so bake when you are done experimenting, not before.
