RotateMirrorVariant node icon   RotateMirrorVariant (node)

The dihedral twin: at each site a mirrored rotational rosette (kaleidoscope) whose every copy is an independent member of a Collection - each rotation slot gets the tile AND its reflection.

RotateMirrorVariant node diagram

Wire a Random Per-Point field into Index for a fresh draw per copy. Repeat 1/2/3/5 gives the D2/D3/D4/D6 groups (pmm...cmm / p3m / p4m / p6m)

Inputs

  • Collection (any): the set of members to pick from.
  • Points (point): the sites; a mirrored rosette is stamped on each.
  • Base Point (point): the spot each member reflects, turns about, and lands on; defaults to its centroid.
  • Angle (any): degrees per rotation slot; copy k sits at k x Angle (positive turns clockwise).
  • Repeat (number): rotation slots per rosette; 1/2/3/5 gives D2/D3/D4/D6.
  • Add OG (on/off): also include the un-rotated slot at 0.
  • Axis A (point): first point defining the reflection axis; keep it at the base.
  • Axis B (point): second point defining the reflection axis.
  • Index (any): which member each copy draws (0-based, wraps); a number, a per-copy field, or a list (one index per copy).

Outputs

  • Geometry (any): the mirrored-rosette copies as a list, each its own group.

The Index input - one member or a per-copy draw

Index (typed any) picks which member of the Collection is used at each copy of the kaleidoscopic rosette:

  • A number: every copy uses that one member (0-based, wraps).
  • A Random "Per-Point" field: each copy draws its own member independently.
