   Line: Perpendicular Through Point (tool)

A line through a point, at a right angle to another line's direction.

A reference line and a Through point, with the constructed line at 90 degrees through the point and a right-angle mark where they cross.

Menu: Construct > Line: Perpendicular Through Point | Node: Perpendicular | In depth: Lines, rays & segments

Pick the reference line (or segment/ray), then the point the perpendicular runs through. The result stays live - move either input and it re-orients.

The tool stays armed on the same base line after each one, so you can drop several perpendiculars off the one reference in a row without re-picking it. Press Esc to release the base.
