   Line: Perpendicular Bisector (tool)

The line perpendicular to a segment through its midpoint.

Points A and B, with the constructed line crossing the segment's midpoint at a right angle and equal ticks on both halves.

Give it two points, or a single segment. Built from a segment, it follows the segment's endpoints as they move.

Every point on this line sits the same distance from both ends of the span, which is what makes it the classical way to find a center. Cross the bisectors of two chords and you have the center of the circle they belong to.

It is also the axis two points reflect across, so it gives you the mirror line when the symmetry comes from the geometry rather than from an axis you drew.
