   Schematic (command)

Draw the artwork as constant hairlines with regions in a muted tint.

Two panes of the same four objects. Normal: a heavy colored arc, a dashed line, a square region whose four edges are drawn curves, and an elliptical region with no curves along its border. Schematic: every stroke is one black hairline, the dash is drawn solid, both regions take the same light tint, and the region whose border no curves back shows its own border dashed.

Menu: View > Schematic | Shortcut: Cmd-Y | In depth: The canvas

A checkable toggle, off by default.

Sets styling aside so you can see structure. Every stroke becomes a constant-width hairline that stays thin however far you zoom in, and dashes are drawn solid.

A filled region does not vanish: its fill is swapped for one uniform light tint, so a shape that has a fill still reads as a shape while a shape that never had one stays an outline.

The canvas furniture is untouched. Grid, axes, guides, rulers, point labels and handles all keep their usual appearance; only the artwork changes.
