New (command)Clear to an empty design.
Menu: File > New | In depth: Saving & opening
Clears the drawing back to empty.
If there is unsaved work it asks first, and the prompt offers Save rather than only discard and cancel, so New never quietly loses changes. Choose Save and then cancel the save itself, and nothing is cleared: you are left exactly where you were.
The detached node window gets a simpler confirm instead, because that window has no file of its own to save.
