Vertices node icon   Vertices (node)

The corner points of a region or curve, as points.

A pentagon with a point marked at each of its five corners; a callout notes that each corner becomes a point.

Inputs

  • Geometry (any): the region or curve whose corners you want.

Outputs

  • Points (point): a point at every contour corner (vertex), as a list.

What Vertices is for

Vertices pulls out the corner points of whatever you feed it. It's chiefly an inspection tool: wire it into a Preview with Numbers on and you can read a construction back - count its corners, or spot coincident/duplicate vertices sitting on top of each other, the kind that make Fillet or a boolean misbehave. (When you find them, Weld Vertices is the fix.)

Color it apart from Control Points to tell a shape's corners from its curve handles.

Related

  • Control Points: the Bézier handles, the companion to corners
  • Weld Vertices: merge the duplicate vertices Vertices helps you find
  • Preview: turn on Numbers to inspect the points
