node keep range
< Previous: Sort | Next: Separate by Type >
Keep a contiguous run of items by position; the rest go to Unselected.
Category: Data | Add menu: Data > Select Range
- Geometry (any): the list to slice.
- Start (number, editable: default 0) - the first index to keep (0-based; negative counts from the end).
- Count (number, editable: default 0) - how many items to keep from Start. 0 or less keeps to the end of the list.
- Selected (any): the contiguous run from Start up to Start + Count.
- Unselected (any): every item outside that run, live so you can style or reuse it.
Select Range takes a slice of a list by position - items Start through Start + Count. Start can count from the end (-1 is the last item), and a Count of 0 (or less) means "to the end", so Start 3, Count 0 keeps everything from item 3 onward. Both outputs stay live, so the items you drop aren't lost - style them differently or route them elsewhere.
It's the contiguous-run member of the keep family: Select Every Nth thins by a step, Select by Pattern selects by a mask, and Select Range takes a solid block.

- Select Every Nth: keep every Nth item instead of a block
- Select by Pattern: keep items by a text mask or index list
- Item at Index: pull a single item out instead of a run
- Lists & collections: how a list travels one wire
