Scale node icon   Scale (node)

Resize geometry by a uniform factor about a center (its own centroid if no Center is wired); wire a value Field into Scale for per-item image-driven halftones.

Scale effect: an L-shape enlarged from a center point, with projection rays running from the center through its corners out to the scaled copy.

Inputs

  • Geometry (any): the shape to resize.
  • Center (point): the pivot to scale about; defaults to the geometry's own centroid.
  • Scale (any): the factor; a number for the whole geometry, a value field to size each item in place, or a list (one factor per item).

Outputs

  • Geometry (any): the resized geometry.

The Scale input - number vs field

  • A number: the whole geometry is scaled by that factor about the Center point, or about its own centroid when Center is unwired.
  • A value field: each item is scaled in place about its own centroid by the field's value there (Center is ignored). This is the canonical image-driven halftone: shapes grow and shrink by tone.
