node separate xy
< Previous: Explode | Next: Explode >
Important
Deprecated. This node is no longer in the menus. Use Explode with its Kind set to Point, which takes a point apart into the same X and Y numbers.
The Kind matters. Left on Auto, Explode answers for whatever arrives, so a segment gives its Start and End rather than an X and a Y. Pinned to Point it uses this node's rule instead: every shape hands back its position.
Documents built with this node still open. They are converted to Explode as they load.
Split a point into its X and Y numbers (two number outputs).
Category: Data | Add menu: none, deprecated
- Point (point): the point to split into numbers.
- X (number): the point's horizontal coordinate, in mm.
- Y (number): the point's vertical coordinate, in mm.
Pulls a point apart into its two numbers, so a coordinate can be used as a value: feed X into a spacing, or into Math to derive something from where a point sits.
It reads one point, the first, so wiring a list in gives you the coordinates of its first point and nothing else.
