Inputs

  • Geometry (any): the items to split.
  • Condition (boolean): the test result that decides where each item goes.

Outputs

  • Selected (any): the items whose condition was true.
  • Unselected (any): the rest.

What it is for

Sorting by measurement rather than by hand. Measure something about each item, ask a question about it with Compare, and wire the answer in here: the items that pass come out of Selected and the rest out of Unselected.

Both outputs are live, so nothing is thrown away. Style the two streams differently and you have a pattern that colors itself by size, angle or area.

How the condition is read

One value applies to everything. A list is read item by item, and if the list is shorter than the geometry it repeats, the same way a pattern mask does.

An item is a top-level member, the same split Item at Index and List Length use. So a member holding several shapes counts as one item and goes to one side whole, rather than being taken apart and scattered across both. Geometry with no members is read shape by shape, which is the same thing said another way.
