node explode segment
< Previous: Explode | Next: Explode Line >
Important
Deprecated. This node is no longer in the menus. Use Explode, which answers for every shape and takes a group apart a layer at a time. Documents built with this node still open and still work.
A segment's two endpoints (Start, End).

Note
The input is a wildcard. Its socket is typed any (grey), not segment/curve (green). Every Explode node takes any geometry and pulls out the parts its name implies - a consequence of a node's output sockets being fixed when it's defined. So you can feed in mixed geometry and get just the segments' endpoints back. (Whether Explode Segment should instead reject non-segment input is under review - #162.)
- Segment (any): the segment to break apart.
- Start (point): the segment's first endpoint.
- End (point): the segment's other endpoint.
Hands back a segment's two endpoints, so the graph can build from where a line already is rather than from typed coordinates: a circle centered on one end, a midpoint between two segments' ends, a measurement taken across them.
Start and End come out as matching lists, one entry per segment, so a whole set explodes at once.
