Mark as Seam node icon   Mark as Seam (node)

Flag the given edges (e.g. from Select Outer Edges) as seams so Weld can dissolve tile/copy boundaries. Only straight lines can be seams.

Two adjacent tiles sharing an edge; the shared edge is flagged as a seam in green.

Inputs

  • Geometry (any): the geometry to tag seams on.
  • Edges (curve): the edges (e.g. from Select Outer Edges) to mark as seams.

Outputs

  • Geometry (any): the geometry with matching straight edges flagged as seams.

What it is for

Tags edges as seams. A seam is a boundary between copies, and Weld dissolves a seam only when it meets another seam, so this is how you tell Weld which edges are allowed to disappear.

Wire the edges you want tagged, usually from Select Outer Edges, along with the geometry they belong to. Only straight lines can be seams; arcs and curves are ignored.
