Button node icon   Button (node)

Emits a pulse when pressed - wire it into a trigger input to run that node.

Button node diagram

Category: Input | Add menu: Input > Button

A Button emits a pulse - a one-shot signal on the trigger wire type. Wire its Pulse output into any Calculate (trigger) input, and pressing the button runs that node once. One Button can drive several trigger inputs at once, so a single press recalculates a whole group of nodes together.

Inputs

None.

Outputs

  • Pulse (trigger): fires once each time the button is pressed.

What it is for

Most of the graph recomputes on its own the moment anything upstream changes. A few nodes do not, because their work should happen when you say so rather than on every edit. Button is how you say so.

Press it and the nodes wired to it run once.
